Overview:

Our Summer Tech Camp is designed for kids aged 6-16 to explore and master the world of technology. Over a span of 2 weeks, students will attend virtual classes five times a week, where they will learn programming logic and digital creativity through hands-on projects and interactive sessions. Each batch is limited to only 5 students to ensure personalized attention and a focused learning environment. Private one-on-one training is also available. Weekend classes are available on request. With an affordable fee of N50,000 and an early bird discount of N40,000, we aim to make tech education accessible and engaging for young minds.

Q1. What is Coding or Programming?

Coding, or programming, is simply the learning of computer language. In order to control computers (or robots or drones), we need to give instructions in a language that they understand – that language is programming language, and the act using that language is coding. We live in an increasingly digital world, and to understand how to code is to understand how this digital world works. Just as we learn science to understand how our nature works, our children must learn coding to understand how technology around us works.

Q2. What program do you use to teach coding?

We teach several programming languages to your child, depending on his/her age and experience. For beginners, we use visual programming languages like Scratch, and will eventually proceed to learn text-based programming languages like Python. Either way, our lessons are designed to be fun and accessible to everyone.

Q3. How will learning to code help my child’s education?

Learning to code helps to develop many important skills that can help a child succeed in school and life beyond. Some of these skills are problem-solving, critical & logical thinking, creativity, and computational thinking skills. Children also use mathematics and scientific skills to solve programming problems. In addition to that, we encourage collaboration in our classes, thus helping a child develop confidence and social skills.

Q4. How old does my child need to be to start learning to code?

For online classes, our students’ ages range from 6 to 14 years old. We start from age 6 because we believe that at this age the child is able to use a computer independently.

Q5. What can my child do after learning to code?

Our innovative curriculum guarantees that most of our students will be able to develop simple software after going through our summer program. The kind of software depends on your child’s interests and passions. They could build games, animations, mobile apps, and various other software projects.

Q6. My child already has computer lessons at school, what is the difference?

While most schools' computer curriculum teaches students how to use computer software (Microsoft Office, Paint, etc.), our program teaches how to build software. We teach students how to build technology instead of only using technology. Unlike most schools, we have specialist and full-time coding educators for students.

Q7. What programming language is suitable for my child to learn?

This depends on the age of the child and if the child has prior knowledge of computer programming. Call to talk with our counselor to find out which course is most appropriate for your child.
